Hi! My name is Natalie. I’m a trans female writer of both fiction and non-fiction living and working on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land. My major interests include boosting visibility for trans feminine people, neurodivergency and community solidarity.

I started writing as a way of coping with homelessness, poverty and trauma. My main concern has always been that, in my view, the very little trans feminine content that exists is ineffective at reflecting the true stories of trans women such as myself and the people I’ve met throughout my life. I decided that if the mainstream refuses to provide me with representation I needed to feel included in society, I would endeavour to supply my own.

Since then, my writing has appeared in publications such as Overland, Junkee, Crikey, Siren Sport and Zee Feed, and since 2023, I have been a regular columnist for the queer Nonsense Newsletter as part of their LGBTIQA+ Media Watch Project.

I have appeared on community radio stations 3CR and 3RRR, discussing trans representation in the media and why it’s critical to combat anti-trans disinformation campaigns.

In terms of fiction, I write literary fiction and slice of life content for trans femme and neurodivergent people. I write this as flash fiction, short stories, novels, plays and visual novels and will leave some excerpts on my website from time to time so stay posted!

I hope to inspire and motivate trans people to be their best selves. The situation is not equipped to accommodate trans people and disabled people, and there is precious little representation about our capacity for self-empowerment. I want to change that. I’m open to commissions in both non-fiction and fiction if you want to reach out.

I also love squirrels, chocolate, pop music, and I have a pet cat called Primrose 🙂
